ADOPOLY COUNCIL CHAIRMAN EDEZE, SUES FOR REGULAR KEEP-FIT EXERCISE
 
Staff and Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti have been charged not to shy away from regular participation in physical fitness exercise.The Governing Council Chairman, Chief Austin Edeze who gave this charge while commissioning the new facilities procured for the Sports Fitness Centre also tasked them to always engage in sporting activities in order to live a long and healthy life.


Chief Edeze, while expressing his love for sports, said that he was very delighted and grateful to Management for sustaining sporting activities on campus.  According to him, the Institution has a great performance record in the area of sport competitions. He assured that the Governing Council would leave no stone unturned in giving adequate and necessary support to sustain the standard of sport in the Polytechnic.


Speaking in similar vein, the Rector, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye who  appreciated the Governing Council for their prompt response to matters of sports within the Institution, said that there has been a long agitation to improve the machineries at the Keep-Fit Centre, which was unattended to in the past, due to lack of funds. He added that the newly procured equipment were only made possible by the due consideration given to Management’s request by the Chairman and members of Council.


Chairman of Sport Committee in the Polytechnic, Dr. Oluwole Ayeni described the Council Chairman as an individual who cares about the welfare of his people.  He also appreciated the Rector and his Management for the renovation of the Sport Office and new equipment purchased. Dr. Ayeni stated that with the appropriate infrastructural facilities in place, the Keep-Fit Centre will not only keep the people fit, but also serve as a medium for Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to the Polytechnic. The Head of Sport Office, Mrs. Jumoke Abe while thanking the Council and Management for the renovation, urged staff and students to take advantage of the opportunity to stay healthy.She also admonished users that the machines should be put to appropriate usage and promised that the equipment will be well maintained for maximum advantage of the Polytechnic Community.
